Description

Rabif-DSR is a prescription-strength combination medication used primarily to treat gastrointestinal issues such as acid reflux, Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), and peptic ulcers. It combines an acid-reducer with a prokinetic agent to manage both the production of stomach acid and the physical movement of the digestive system.

Composition

Each capsule of Rabif-DSR contains two active ingredients formulated for specific release patterns:

  1. Rabeprazole Sodium (EC): * Type: Proton Pump Inhibitor (PPI).

    • Function: It reduces the amount of acid produced in the stomach.

    • “EC” (Enteric Coated): This coating prevents the medication from being dissolved by stomach acid, allowing it to reach the small intestine for proper absorption.

  2. Domperidone (SR):

    • Type: Prokinetic / Antiemetic.

    • Function: It increases the movements or contractions of the stomach and intestines, allowing food to move more easily. It also helps prevent nausea and vomiting.

    • “SR” (Sustained Release): This formulation releases the drug slowly over an extended period to provide long-lasting relief.
